Leather Eats Dinner Group Events

Founded in November of 2021, the Leather Eats group holds regular events for people who identify as part of the lather community.

The idea for hosting a leather dinner started in the fall of 2022 when four friends met at Sambuca’s on Church to enjoy a pleasant meal and to converse about leather culture. After a few hours of engaging discussions, there was a mutual feeling amongst the foursome that “wouldn’t it be nice to do this regularly?” They also wondered if other people might appreciate an event like this. So, two of the friends, Aharon Trottier and Michael Tattersall, coordinated to host their first communal dinner at Sambuca’s on Church the following month.

The first official LEDGE dinner took place in November 2022, with 14 attendees. Over the next few months, the event took off: 19 attendees joined in December, and 29 ate together at the January dinner. By February, 40 attendees were present, and the group peaked at over 50 attendees in the Spring. The dress code is promoted as being “casual leather/gear,” with restaurant-appropriate rules in effect. This can be as simple as a leather or rubber vest, shirt, pants, or suspenders. If being dressed from head-to-toe in leather is your preference, you are encouraged to do so. There are several BLUF members who attend regularly. All gender expressions are welcome.

The event fosters a sense of community amongst the various queer gear and kinky groups within Toronto. The hosts share that “whether you identify as being part of the Leather culture, or as being Leather-adjacent, or simply just curious… YES, you are welcome to sit at our table. Pull up a chair and chat with the lovely folks who attend. The intention is to have everyone within the community feel welcome.”
